How do I configure or change the system's Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)?
Answer
You can enable up to five WBS item levels.
Our default names for these levels are: Client | Project Group | Project | Task Group | Task.
You can customize these names to whatever you like. Note the dependent check boxes allow you to make Projects "dependent" upon Customer. This creates a place in each project profile for you to assign the project to a particular customer. Later when users browse to add WBS items to their timesheets, when they select a Customer first, they will be restricted to adding only those projects assigned to that customer.
To change the WBS:
- Navigate to System>Work Breakdown Structure
- To edit a level (Rename it or change dependencies), it must be enabled.
- Then you can change the singular and plural names.
- You can also enable a dependency between a lower level and a higher level (e.g. Tasks are dependent on Projects).
- Hit okay to save.
