- Navigate to System > Security
- In the Security settings box Authentication Type: select "Standard"
- Standard will be a non-SSO setting controlled by Pacific Timesheet
- Complete password settings according to your security policies.

Login and password interface
Standard authentication enables a login interface on the upper left of their home page.
This interface includes:
Login Name
The user Login Name is set upon the creation of an employee's user profile in one of three ways:
- Manually by the system administrator
- Automatically by a third-party system importing new employee data into the Auto-Import directory
- Automatically by a REST API call to Add a new user to the system.
Password
A new user password is set and then stored in the employee's user profile. This can be done manually by the system administrator or by the employee user themselves.
Using the Forgot your password? link
The Forgot your password feature has two uses:
- When onboarding a new user to the system, instruct them to navigate to the system home page (e.g., https://company.pacifictimesheet.com) and click on the Forgot your password link.
- The user will then be taken to the Request Password page:
- The user is instructed on this page to enter either their login name, email address or employee ID so this system will email them a temporary password.
- Then the user will enter their login name, temporary password and click the Login button.
- When they are a new user or are recovering from forgetting their password, the system will prompt them to create a new password.
- Once created, they will logged into the system.
- The Forgot your password? link can also be used to rest a forgotten password.
