Why is there not Week View option for start and finish time timesheets?
When you add start and finish fields to a timesheet template, it turns the timesheet into an attendance-oriented timesheet with a Day View only. There are a few good reasons for this:
- Users who enter attendance time daily only need the day view for data entry purposes.
- If they need to view the entire time period, they can always use the summary view (this is next to the day view in the upper right of the timesheet)
- Editing a start and finish timesheet in the week view does not have a logical or workable interface except to put the start and finish times in details (which is not intuitive for users and would be extremely clunky to use).
- We need to start and finish time configurations to support tracking start and finish times for project and/or task work.
There is a week view timesheet option for project and attendance hours when you need to track them separately. The project-attendance combination timesheet option displays an attendance are for the timesheet up top, and the project and/or task hours area of the timesheet below.
One note of caution:
The attendance widget option should only be used when users are also tracking project/task time in the hours section of the timesheet.
