Question
When I extend a user's finish date, the system still enforces the old finish date.
Answer
In Version 9.14 Build 362, Pacific Timesheet will now take certain steps to clear and update a user's finish date in the user's browser cache.
Background
Previously, if you needed to extend a contractor's contract past a previously set finish date, some customers found that the old stale finish date could remain in the user's browser cache in certain circumstances. The result was the user getting an error message saying they were not allowed to enter hours past their finish date. This was confusing for the user because the message was referring to their old finish date, not the current updated one.
Pacific Timesheet now takes steps to ensure that stale or old finish dates do not remain in the user's browser cache.
For any situation, if this still happens, the user should use the following workaround:
- Try to make an enter on the Day or Week View of the timesheet and hit Save. Saving the Timesheet will clear and update the browser cache and allow the user to complete and submit the timesheet.
- If this fails, the user should then try logging out closing the browser. Open the browser and logging in again. This should also clear the browser cache of the old finish date and allow the user to complete and submit their timesheet.
And, as always, if there is still any issue, please report all user and system details to technical support as soon as possible so we can reproduce and solve the issue.
