How do I archive Pacific Timesheet data?
You can archive old timesheet data in order to maintain the performance of your Pacific Timesheet database. We recommend archiving data older than 5 years, but if your system has more than 5,000 users you may want archive out data as early as even 3 or 4 years. Perform archiving during a created maintenance window. Archived data is NOT lost, but rather moved into separate archival tables in the database. After archiving, individual archived timesheets can no longer be viewed, but the data can still be reported on. When you run a report for a time period that has been archived you will be prompted to access the archival data and the report will run as normal. If you need access to individual timesheets that have been previously archived you can use the dearchive tool to de-archive specific employees or groups of employees.
For more information download the following ZIP file that contains the archive utility and instructions: http://download.pacifictimesheet.com/tools.zip (Note this solution only applies to self-hosted systems. Cloud/SaaS systems have archiving performed for them automatically at scheduled intervals).
